A Mission Need – Rural India
Through Ian and Lee Campbell, the church became aware of a ministry opportunity in rural India—where roads are unsealed and electricity is as often off as it is on.

Ian and Lee established contact with Williams Ray Revu, aged 41, who lives in Andhra Pradesh with his wife Anitha and their 12-year-old son, James. Williams is highly educated, holding qualifications in Medical Lab Technology, Biochemistry, and English Literature. However, after registering as a Christian and experiencing the beginnings of persecution, he felt called by God to leave his career and commit fully to ministry.
For the past 15 years, Williams has faithfully served, reaching those with little hope. He now oversees a network of around 100 pastors, ministering across more than eight locations within an 80-kilometre radius. Some gatherings meet in homes, others simply out on the street.
Language is often a challenge. While Williams speaks Telugu, the many dialects in the region sometimes require multiple interpreters—on occasion, up to four—passing the message from one to another before it reaches those listening.
Alongside sharing the Gospel, this ministry provides practical care—feeding orphans and vulnerable children, distributing blankets, medicines, and Bibles, helping establish wells and water purification, and teaching women sewing skills so they can support themselves. Many in these communities can read a little but cannot write. Williams has a heart to teach both English and the truth of God’s Word to people who belong to the lowest caste and have very little hope.
While some support comes from a donor in America, it is not enough to sustain or grow the work. The pastors receive no wages, and many struggle even to feed themselves. Without basic provision, their ability to travel to villages and share the message of Christ is limited. $25 AUD can provide a bag of rice to support a pastor for a month.
Immediate needs include:
- Rice for pastors, widows, and orphans
- A bore well to provide clean water
- A school so children can receive an education
Contributions from our church are greatly appreciated and Williams sends updates about the work when possible.
We continue to support this work through prayer, encouragement, and practical giving.
Williams’ Facebook Page is Williams Ray Revu though there isn’t much on it at present.
